The PreTribulation Rapture 1 Corinthians 155158
And with that, let's get into the Word of God,1st Corinthians chapter 15 today. On Sunday mornings before the prophecyupdate we're going through 1st Corinthians chapter by chapter and verseby verse. And today our text will be verses 51 to 58 in Chapter 15. And onceyou find your way there, if you're able, I'll to ask you to stand. You can follow alongas I read, if not thats alright. The Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit iswriting, verse 51, and it says, 'Listen, I tell you you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will
be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For', verse 53, the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.â€ “Where, O death, is your victoryé Where, O death, is your stingéâ€ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God!' verse 57, 'He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.' Let's pray. Would you join with me. Loving Heavenly Father will you, by the Holy Spirit, settle us and enable us tofocus our attention upon You and Your word and that which you have for us inYour word today. Lord we don't want any distractions to keep us away from thatwould she would desire to minister to us So Lord we want to give you our undividedattention as you speak into our lives. So Lord speak, Your servants are listening,in Jesus' name, Amen. You can be seated,
thank you. I've been really lookingforward to today's teaching. I've chosen the title of: The PreTribulation Rapture. The Apostle Paul in addressing the resurrection here in thischapter, writes them concerning the rapture of the church; and its within thecontext of the resurrection of the dead, the literal resurrection of the dead. Andthis because there were some there in Corinth who did not believe in theliteral resurrection of the dead. And if there was God forbid no such thing asthe literal resurrection from the dead, then do you realize what theimplications of that would Beé If there's
is no resurrection, then there certainlycannot be a rapture; and this is in a sense what Paul is going to address inour texts today. I'm going to take a little different approach in our verse by versestudy and talk about one of the reasons the rapture of the church absolutely has to happen before theseven year tribulation. I know that's shocking to you that I'm so dogmaticabout it, but today like no other time, at least that I can remember, there is moreof an attack on the doctrine of the pre tribulation rapture of the church. I wastalking with Jan Markell about this, and
she communicated to me that she's notseen anything like i. Iit seems like as of late, in this late hour of humanhistory, that there are those who, some how, find it necessary to attack the pretrib rapture believers. And I'll tell you some of the attacks are very vehement, and to me the attacks on the pretrib rapture is sort of an authentication of, anda validation of the doctrine of the pretribulation rapture. Actually today, because of communion Sunday, we're also going to talk about another reason whythe rapture of the church has to happen before the seven year tribulation; andit's woven into the typology as we're
How close are we to the rapture and tribulation period
gt;gt;Ankerberg: We've all gone through Christmasand just before Christmas, we had Thanksgiving and when we had Thanksgiving, we knew thatthat meant in the calendar that Christmas was not far away. If you backtrack on prophecy, and you say these events are going to take place in the Tribulation and you can see signsof those events and judgments coming about in the Tribulation and we can see them now,and the Rapture has not occurred, that would mean that the rapture has got to be even closer. What are the parallels, what are world events telling you right now about how close we areto the time of the Rapture and then the Tribulationé First of all, the revelation of Christ, thereturn of Christ back to the earth would be
Christmas; the rapture of the Church wouldbe Thanksgiving. Now, we can see the signs for Christmas, even before Christmas, leadingup to the many weeks and even months before Christmas, we saw all the Christmas lights,we heard the Christmas songs, everything was giving us indication that Christmas was coming.Jesus Christ was asked in the Olivet discourse, give us some signs of Your Second Coming. Now, Matthew 24, when He responds to those questions from His disciples, is not talkingabout the rapture of the Church; that was not in His mind at that time. He's talkingabout the Second Coming. He's talking about, in Matthew 24, Olivet discourse, He's talkingabout deceptions: signs, wonders and miracles.
In Matthew 24, verses 4, 5. 11 and 24, Heuses the word deception in all those verses four times. He says deception, and the wayof communicating deception through, signs, wonders and miracles, which we see a proliferationof today here on this earth, would be the first sign of how it's going to be beforeHe returns. Then He talked about wars and rumors of wars, and nation against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and people against people. He saidthat that would be happening before He comes back. And it is so evident in our world thatwars and rumors of war—look at the continent of Africa, it's almost aflame at war; yougo into the Middle East, and there in the
Gaza Strip, Fatah and Hamas, the two factionsin the Palestinians, they are killing each other. There's going to be, I believe, acivil war in Israel, Jew against Jew, because there's Jews living in the area of Judeaand Samaria who the Israeli government want to evacuate out, and they say, we're notcoming out. You look at Afghanistan, you look at Iraq, you look at Iran, you look at allthat's going on there in our world: wars and rumors of wars. Then He talked about there would be famine, people would starve to death. He talked aboutthere would be earthquakes in diverse places. He talked about those things that would happen.Basically, Matthew 24 is a preview of the
book of Revelation. And what I'm just givingyou a list of, are those sealed judgments that happen after the rapture of the Church. He finishes the Olivet discourse with Matthew 24:3234. He says learn the parable of thefig tree. That has nothing to do with the State of Israel, He's on the Mount of Olivesand there's a fig tree right beside Him, it's in the springtime and the leaves arestarting to pop up all around. He says, “Learn the parable of the fig tree. You see the leaveson that limb thereé That indicates that summer's almost here. So, likewise, when you see allof these things;â€ all of what thingsé The things we just talked about: wars and rumorsof wars, there's deception, famine, earthquakes
in diverse places, people died. When we seethose things, know that it is near. What's nearéWell, they'd asked Him, when are you coming back; not the rapture, when are you comingback, the second comingé He said, “I say to you, this generation shall not pass awayuntil these things are fulfilled and I return.â€ But who is He talking abouté Not the peopleHe was talking to on the Mount of Olives, He's talking to a generation of people alivein this tribulation period, that generation of people, they will see these things happening, they will know His second coming is close. But wait a minute, the rapture's got tohappen before that, and we as Christians are
