TBO 921 The False Rapture part 1 One in Three Isnt Bad
I was talking with a church member the other day and he told meabout a particular encounter he had with someone who believed in the secret rapture. Now ithas been my experience that many people will tell you they believe in the secret rapturewithout really knowing what the secret rapture is entirely or where the teaching really originated. There are now several different variationsof this teaching that have popped up since its origin in Scotland many years ago, butI am not going to get into all of them. I
am going to share the truth of the bible concerningthis subject. “The best way to expose the fallacy of erroris to present the evidences of truth. This is the greatest rebuke that can be given toerror. Dispel the cloud of darkness resting on minds by reflecting the bright light ofthe Sun of Righteousness. White, Pacific Union Recorder Article: Methods of Labor,October 23, 1902. Jesus said in John 8:32, “And ye shall knowthe truth, and the truth shall make you free. So what I am going to do is spend a couple ofSabbaths cutting this false teaching open by the word of God, which hopefully will giveyou confidence to use the sword of the spirit
to confront it when it does come your way.We are going to look at prophecy and history to determine the truth and I would encourage you to takenotes if you can. We will begin back in the Garden of Eden wherethe devil introduced his system of interpretation to our world. Notice what he started therewith Eve… Genesis 3:153:1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God hadmade. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree ofthe gardené 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, Wemay eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which isin the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touchit, lest ye die. 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Yeshall not surely die: 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eatthereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Notice that Satan launched his conversationwith Eve by asking a seemingly innocuous question: quot;Has God said . . .quot; His opening ploy wasto question God's word, and then offer a counterinterpretation of God's actual intentions. He claimed toEve that God was trying to hide knowledge
from her. What is more interesting to me, however, isthat Satan has not only continued telling lies, but he has honed and amplified his techniqueas he has been propelled toward the end of time. He knows that God has no intention of lettingsin continue for eternity, and so down through the ages he has been quite aware that therewould come a point in time when it was all or nothing, when everything was at stake. We see his technique alive and well in the Christian world today.
Satan works to nullify the impact of the propheciesgiven through God's Spirit—especially the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation dealingwith the endtimes. I'll be very plain now. Today, many sincere Christians believe thatGod is going to quot;rapturequot; them out of this world before a period of time widely hailedas quot;the tribulation.quot; They've been taught that the seventieth week of Daniel's prophecy(Daniel 9:2427) has been quot;cutoffquot; from the first 69 weeks. But friends, is this trueé In order to understand this question, we needto make certain that we are using the principles and systems of interpretation that our Godhas built into the Bible—what I call the
