Pastor Steven Anderson The Book of Revelation Chapter 18 of 22
Now in Revelation chapter 18, we read aboutthe destruction of Babylon. The Bible reads in verse number 1, quot; And after these thingsI saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightenedwith his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the greatis fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine ofthe wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication withher, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.quot; So in this chapter, we read about the destruction
of Babylon. But first of all, I want to establish, who is Babylon. What is God talking about when he talks about Babylon being destroyed.Well the first thing I want to point out, and if you would turn to 1st Peter chapter5. The first thing I would like to point out is the actual literal city of Babylonno longer exists. And not only that, but even at the time of Christ, and even at the timeof 1st Peter being written, and even at the time of the book or Revelation being written, the city of Babylon no longer existed. That is because the Old Testament story recordshow Nebechudnezzar, the king of Babylon conquered the civilised world and had this worldwideempire, BUT, that empire was judged by God.
And it was prophesied in Jeremiah 50 and 51,that Babylon would be destroyed. And the Bible prophesied that Babylon would be destroyedand that it would never be inhabited. I'll just read it for you quickly while you'returning to 1st Peter 5. quot; Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beastsof the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell thereinquot;, talking about birdsdwelling there. And it says quot;and it shall be NO MORE INHABITED FOR EVER; neither shallit be dwelt in from generation to generation. As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and theneighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shallany son of man dwell therein.quot; So when Babylon
was destroyed in the Old Testament, God saidthat it would not be inhabited again, it would not be rebuilt. And to this day, that cityno longer exists. So when the Bible is talking about quot;Babylonquot;, it is not talking about theliteral city of Babylon from the Old Testament. Some have said quot;well, it IS the literal cityof Babylon, they're going to rebuild itquot;. And I've even seen different emails sent out, even going back to when I was a kid, they would say quot;they're about to rebuild Babylon! The Bible is going to be fulfilled! They have all the building materials.quot; And I've seenphotographs of all these materials stockpiled that they're supposedly going to rebuild Babylonwith. But the Bible said that it was NOT going
to be inhabited again. And it's already beendestroyed. I don't believe it's going to be rebuilt. But second of all, God is alreadyin the Bible referring to a different city as quot;Babylonquot; in 1st Peter chapter 5. Becauseif somebody said quot;well, before the endtimes come, the city of Babylon is going to be rebuilt.quot; But wait a minute, in 1st Peter, he is already referring to another city as Babylon, andthe city still hasn't been built thousands of years after 1st Peter was written. Lookat this in 1st Peter chapter 5:13. The Bible reads quot; The church that is at Babylon, electedtogether with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.quot; So there, Peter is givingthem a greeting, or a salutation from the
church AT BABYLON, and the city of Babylondid not exist at that time. So what was he talking abouté Well, just to show you oneverse, the Bible says in verse 18, of chapter 17, quot; And the woman which thou sawest is thatgreat city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.quot; And then if you back up toverse 9 of chapter 17, it says quot; And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven headsare seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.quot; Now chapter 17 was all about the great whore. And the great whore is sitting upon the scarlet coloured beast. And the beast has seven heads, and those seven heads represent seven mountains on which the woman sitteth. So in chapter17, the great whore, I believe is clearly

We will do these . by focusing on the timelines and the relations of the Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls.
which are not simple linear pattern as it has been taught. But, I am NOT going to discuss the contents of the events in detail, or predict, exactly when things may be. And, this is the original article, and at the end of it, there is a package of all the tables and diagrams you will see in this tutorial in PDF formats. And, I have this slide because I wanted to clearly mention that you are permitted to download the PDF graphics for personal and educational purposes. Please read it, and please honor my requests And, I ask that you will not reupload the tutorial, please . Thank you. OK . let's begin .
We'll start with a look at the outline of the book. And, I will touch on a few important things to lay the foundation before I will show you the graphics. So, please stay with me. The Book of Revelation consists of 4 parts. 1st, the greetings and the introduction, where Yeshua our Messiah appears to Apostle John on the Island of Patmos. In Chapter 1, verse 19, Yeshua tells John that He will show him quot;things which arequot; and quot;things which will take place after this The second section of the Book of Revelation . quot;things which are, quot; which is the message to the 7 churches, which is to us. But, we are NOT going to touch on this part today. Hope we will do that in near future .
The 3rd and the longest section is the part, which He called, quot;things which quot;willquot; take place, quot; chapter 4 through 19, mainly 6 through 19, is our focus today. And the last section after Chapter 20 is about the Millennium to come, the Judgment, and the New Earth, New Heaven, and the New Jerusalem, the Bride of the Messiah. And, we're going back to the midsection, which is our focus today and the majority of what is discussed in this This section is the same as the Daniel's 70th Week, or, also called . the Last Week
The prophecy is found . in Daniel Chapter 9. verses 2027 which was given to Daniel by the archangel Gabriel. We will have a quick review of that . The first thing I 'd like you to know is this word, quot;Week, quot; . shavuah . in Hebrew. In the Bible, a week is a unit of 7, and in this prophecy, it means 7 years. Basically ., Daniel was told that, quot;from the time the command was given 70 Weeks were determined for the Children of Israel to be forgiven. The quot;commandquot; means . the edict, decreed by the Persian king, Artaxerxes Longimanus,
to release the people of the Kingdom of Judah from the exile. It is the consensus among the prophecy scholars that the year was 444 BC. Now many have tried to pinpoint the timing of the Second Coming by computing the number of years you still need to combine them with the sign of the time, or you would come up with a wrong conclusion. Now, I am going to go through the next few slides very quickly because I want to get to the Book of Revelation as soon as possible, but we must have this basic knowledge to build on. In the next verse, verse 25, the prophecy tells us that the Messiah will come after 7 plus 62 weeks, equals 69 weeks,
