gt;THE ARRIVAL OF JESUS CHRIST TO TAKE HIS CHURCH HOME ISIMMINENT. AND I REALLY BELIEVE THAT WITHALL MY HEART. WITH ME ISANOTHER GENTLEMAN WHO BELIEVES THE SAME THING.DR. THOMAS ICE, WELCOME TO PROPHECY WATCHERS. gt;gt;THANKYOU. IT'S GOOD TO BE HERE AND BE A WATCHER WITH YOU. gt;WELL,THANK YOU. AND YOU'VE BEEN AWATCHER FOR A LONG TIME. NOW, HE'S DR. THOMAS ICE,BUT HE'S ASKED ME TO ADDRESS HIM AS TOMMY, ANDI'M PRIVILEGED TO DO THAT. I'MGARY,
TOMMY, I HAVE ADMIRED YOUR WORKFOR YEARS YOU'VE WRITTEN LITERALLYHUNDREDS OF ARTICLES ON ESCHATOLOGY, THE STUDY OFTHE LAST DAYS, THE LAST THINGS. EXTENSIVELY ON THESUBJECT OF THE CATCHING AWAY OF THE CHURCH, THERAPTURE, POPULARLY KNOWN. I WANT TO TALK WITH YOU TODAYABOUT THE RAPTURE AND IN PARTICULAR SOME OF THECONTROVERSIES THAT ARE POPPING UP THESE DAYS ABOUT THE RAPTUREOF THE CHURCH. I BELIEVE THAT
LITERALLY WHILE WE'RE SITTINGHERE TALKING THE RAPTURE COULDOCCUR. gt;gt;RIGHT. gt;WHAT DO YOU THINKégt;gt;WELL OF COURSE, THAT;S WHAT WE CALL THE DOCTRINE OFIMMINENCE. IT'S IMPLIED IN ABOUT A DOZEN PASSAGES THATTALK ABOUT LOOKING FOR THE BLESSED HOPE. ACTUALLY THE WORD'LOOKING' THERE MEANS 'WAITING' AND YOU HAVE IN THE EPISTLESPRIMARILY THE IDEA THAT WE'RE WAITING FORTHE LORD FROM HEAVEN. I THINK WATCHING RELATES TO THESECOND COMING.
YOU SEE THAT IN THE OLIVETDISCOURSE AND THINGS LIKE THAT.SO SINCE THERE ARE NO SIGNS TOLOOK FOR THAT'S WHY SCRIPTURECHARACTERIZES US AS WAITING FOR HIS SON FROM HEAVEN. 1THESSALONIANS 1:10, HOW THESSALONIANS TURNED FROM IDOLSTO SERVE THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD AND TO WAIT FOR HIS SONFROM HEAVEN. LIKE I SAY, THAT IS THE NEXT EVENT THAT COULDHAPPEN AT ANY MOMENT.
gt;THE WORD THAT REALLY RINGS INMY MIND WHEN I THINK ABOUT THE RAPTURE IS THE WORD'COMFORT'. PAUL SAYS 'COMFORT YE ONE ANOTHER WITHTHESE WORDS'. PAUL IS ALWAYS WRITING ON THE BASIS OF WHAT I HAVEWRITTEN TO YOU, YOU SHOULDCOMFORT ONE ANOTHER WITH THIS HOPE. TO ME, THAT ISA VERY IMPORTANT THOUGHT, AND IT'S A THOUGHT ISEE DRIFTING AWAY IN THESE LATTER DAYS OF THECHURCH. I SEE A LOT OF ANXIETY,
I SEE THE BLESSED HOPE SORT OFFADING AWAY, AND I'M TRYING EVERY WAY I CANTO PROMOTE THAT IDEA, AND I KNOW YOU ARETOO. gt;gt;YES, IT'S HARD TO GET AWAY FROMTHOSE 10 OR SO PASSAGES THAT OCCUR ONLY IN THEEPISTLES. THAT THE EPISTLES WERE THEAPOSTLES AND INSTRUCTIONS OF HOW WE ARETO LIVE AS BELIEVERS TODAY. THAT'S WHY THEY MAKE STATEMENTS
Translation Rapture Part 1 King James Bible Prophecy CC
Music Hello folks this is Pastor Mike Hoggard, Pastorof Bethel Church in Festus, Missouri, head of Prophetic Research Ministry with avery special edition of the Watchman Tutorial Broadcast. We re going to be doing a very, very, indepthstudy of something that, for some reason, it has come into, come to be a controversialsubject. The days that we live in right now, I, I grewup all of my life, most of my life in church, but all that time in church I believedwhat is commonly called the Rapture, I
believed in that idea. I believed that it was going to happen; Ican remember looking for it all through boyhood into teenage years. I am still looking for the glorious appearingand the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, what we re going to do is we re goingto study what the Bible says alone about this subject. We re going to cover a lot of details. We re going to look at the doctrinal statementsmade clearly in the Scripture.
We re going to look into typology and symbolismof the Bible because I believe that something that is as important as the raptureor the translation of the church in the last days, I believe something that s thatimportant can be seen in more than just one or two places in the Bible, in fact, we see elementsof it all through the Scriptures and I m excited about being able to show this toyou today. There s some people who don t believe in it. There s some people who, maybe they ve reada blog, maybe they ve read, watched a you
tube tutorial or somebody posted something onFacebook or some other kind of social media, telling them that they shouldn t believe init and they accepted that. There s a lot of stories about how the doctrineof the rapture came up, I don t know that know all of that stuff. What I know, what I only trust is what isin the word of God. And what happens is we tend to listen to people, maybe wellmeaning people, maybe wellintentioned people, I don t know. We tend to listen to people and ignore clearlywhat God says in his book.
There s some people that even object to itbecause it s commonly called the rapture and they say, that word is not in the Bible andI understand that and if you know me and kind of know our ministry, I like to stick withthe word of God and I like to stick with the language of the word of God. The word rapture simply is an English wordbased upon a Latin word which means caught up, which is the form of what you find in1 Thessalonians, chapter 4, we shall be caught up together with him. So while the word rapture is not necessarilyin our English Bible, it means the same
thing as what is in our Bible and that isthe idea that we re going to be caught up together with him in the clouds. We are going read that verse here in a littlebit. So whether throughout this teaching I referto it as the translation or the being caught up or the rapture, I am in fact referringto the same thing. But there s some people who say they don tbelieve in it because that word is not in the Scripture.
