2012 Election Predicted
The campaign for the presidency is over, butthere's this persistent fear that this marathon of an election might end up too close to callon election night, mainly because it appears too close to call now, on the eve of the election.Only, I don't see it that way. As polls in the eastern time zone close, theresults in most states will be a foregone conclusion and Obama will open with a doubleuplead in electoral votes, already amassing more than â…“ the total needed to win. However, close states like New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Ohio, let alone deeply divided battlegroundslike Virginia, North Carolina and Florida, will need some more time before they'resafely in either man's column.
As the central time zone results come back,it becomes clear how the American heartland feels, and Romney will leap into the lead.By now New Hampshire and Pennsylvania which, at times, flirted with the idea of going red will be called for Obama. The Mountain Time Zone returns will actually keep Romney ahead, that is until Wisconsin, Iowa and Ohio the key battleground state are finally calledfor President Obama, bringing him to the doorstep of victory. As the sun sets in the deep bluewest, it also does on Romney's presidential hopes with uncompetitive Washington, Oregonand California all comfortably going for the President who crosses the 270 victory thresholdbarely with 272, earning him a second term
in office with nearly 79 electoral votes stillup for grabs. Hawaii and Alaska will go for Obama and Romneyrespectively, with the President padding his margin of victory with Nevada, Colorado andlikely Virginia, Florida and maybe even North Carolina too.In the end though, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance, it was just 3 clutchvotes that made the election decisive. The brilliant strategy of the President's campaign his last paid off, setting the stage for a dramatic victory address that should beginbefore the clock strikes midnight on the east coast.
